Do you want to develop your hill walking skills to venture away from the beaten track and on to more adventurous, challenging steeper ground?

Summer scrambling offers everyone the opportunity to travel in the mountains moving fluidly between rocky steps, knobbly bits and outcrops and seemingly impassable terrain to reach the summit. Under the supervision and ever watchful eye of an experienced leader or instructor to guide you, this is a perfect course for any hill walker who wants to develop their skills to take in more challenging terrain.

Over the course of the two days we will cover route finding, simple rope work, choosing a safe line, movement skills, navigation, equipment selection, how to interpret weather and gain information from the guide books to this popular activity.

By the end of our course you will be able to leave ready to discover scrambling for yourself and develop your own judgements for venturing on to more exposed ridges and graded scrambles.

Courses are held throughout the year in Wales and the Lake District.
